More to marketing. Welcome to more 2 marketing and podcast on marketing, product and everything in between. I’m your host, Susan and today we’re just going to have a brief discussion about how leadership can help with success for a business. Leadership is the lifeblood of any successful business. It plays a pivotal role in steering the organisation towards its goals and maintaining a healthy work environment. This is a list on why leadership is really critical to your business and you should use it as a point of reference for consideration on how you can improve leadership in your organisation or how you. Do leadership yourself. The very first is guidance and direction. Effective leaders need to provide a clear vision and direction for their team. They set goals, create strategies and ensure everyone knows their role in achieving these objectives. It’s critical that the leader also sets this out by example too, so that you’ve all got common goals and individual goals. But they are also providing and steering where required depending on each team member’s individual needs. Motivation. Leaders need to be able to inspire and motivate employees to be their best. Their own enthusiasm and passion needs to be contagious and foster a culture of dedication and commitment. Many of us would have worked with leaders that were quite we’re just here to to do what we need to without having that passion behind it, to make things better, to drive for bigger goals, to do things that will. Really inspire others to do better, so a leader needs to be able to inspire. And stir something within their team towards the positive goals that you’re setting as well. So they want to be there. You spend so much time together, you want to make sure that you all feel like you’re there. For a common purpose. And you want to be there. Leaders help with problem solving in their ever changing business landscapes, letters of vital to making tough decisions and complex solving problems. Now, they shouldn’t just do all the answers. It should be teamwork in many senses where you give that responsibility autonomy to a degree to your team members. But at the same time you’re there. If they need to come to you for any problem solving. Or to be able. To guide them in the right direction for that solution, not necessarily giving it to them, particularly when you’re developing them up. Leaders bring their experience and expertise to the table through their experience and doing past problem solving. Leaders need to be able to bring a team together, so building that team, they need to be effective leaders to build strong, cohesive teams. They understand the strengths and weaknesses of each team member and also leverage them as a collective, but at the same time, identifying those gaps and helping those team members towards closing those gaps. Innovation. Leaders encourage innovation and creativity within their organisation, so you’re not just doing the same solution to a problem over and over again. You actually allow your team to think of different ways to approach it depending on technology, customer changes, etc. Leaders create an an environment where employees feel comfortable showing their ideas, and they may take some calculated risks that are acceptable. And it’s knowing that that’s OK. Employee development. One of the things that as a leader I love doing is seeing my team members thrive and a good leadership involves nurturing those talents and helping employees grow. It’s not only that the like, it really does. It benefits the employee, but it also ensures a pool of skills. And improving that professionalism within the company, plus you never know when you might work with someone. Again in the future. Adaptability. Businesses these days need to be able to make agile, swift changes, and leaders need to be able to move in that way as well. So having a leader that is essential in transformation and ensuring the organisation remains competitive. You you need to be able to pivot on your feet, you need to be able to do it fast. You need to be able to communicate effectively as well and bring your team on that journey. Always explain the why helps. Crisis management. Great leaders. A great under challenging times and this could even include things like economic downturns or even crisises like COVID-19. And effective leader is vital for navigating through this uncertainty and showing the business continuity. They make sure the team feels safe. They make sure that the team feels heard. And they also, as much as they can be as transparent with the team about what’s going on. That will help immensely to make that team feel like they’re part of what’s happening. Ethical standards. Leaders set the ethical tone for the organisation. They establish a culture of integrity which is crucial for long term success and reputation. Many times I see him junior team members try to copy the seniors. In many cases, those seniors may not. Be the best role model. So it’s vital to be the best role model you can so that they will be successful in the future if they do begin to emulate some of what you do in your characteristics or behaviours. As a leader. Overall, leadership is not a buzzword. It’s a cornerstone of a thriving business. Effective leaders grow and they foster growth. They’re innovative and they bring about a positive work culture, ultimately leading to leading to a very successful day. Week, month, year even more for that team and also for the competitive business landscape that that company is in.
