More to marketing. Welcome to more 2 marketing, a podcast on marketing, product and everything business. I’m your host, Susan, and today we’re going to be asking and answering the question is retail marketing still relevant in our digital first world? Not to have loops. Spoiler The answer is yes, but like everything in retail, it’s a bulk thing, and today we’re going to explore more on this topic. The evolution of retail marketing. Retail marketing has seen some serious changes over the years. Even if we think back to the days where we had printed ads in magazines and newspapers. Beautiful visual merchandising window displays and those in store promotions where people would give you food or they’d be handouts or just a really big display with the go to methods for capturing attention. Now if we Fast forward to now, it’s very different. We’ve transitioned from more of a bricks and mortar dominance to the rise of E commerce and now the seamless integration of online and offline spirits through the Omni channel strategies. Now this shift isn’t just about convenience, it’s about meeting actual consumers where they are. Retailers have had to adapt quickly, moving beyond traditional tactics to embrace social media, influencer partnerships, personalised email campaigns and more. And. The goal? To create a cohesive and engaging brand experience that keeps customers coming back for more. But what exactly is retail marketing? At its core, it’s about promoting products or services directly to consumers through various channels. It’s a. Mix of everything. Critic planning pricing strategies, promotional campaigns and overall presentation of offerings. But ultimately, it’s all about driving sales, building brand awareness and fostering customer loyalty. And to do that. Retailers use a blend of what is called the retail marketing mix. Price, product place promotion. They’re the basic 4, right? They’re the classic ones. But in today’s retail landscape, there’s been more added. So you’ve got people or presentation and process now I’ve got a whole other podcast on that. So I’ll put it in the show notes and feel free to listen. To that one and talk about all the piece. These P elements work together to create a holistic marketing strategy that doesn’t just sell a product, but offers an experience. Now, with the Omni channel approach, there’s been some big shifts. Gone are the days when customers interacted with the brand through just one or two channels. Today, consumers expect a seamless experience whether they’re shopping online, in store or even in most in some cases, social media. Omni channel strategy is not a buzzword. It is a necessity. Retailers are optimising their online stores, maintaining a strong social presence. Some are collaborating with influencers and creating immense immersive experiences. The key is consistency, ensuring that whatever and wherever a customer encounters your brand, they get the same level of service and engagement. Now data data data it is gold. Retailers are harnessing the power of data driven marketing to make smarter decisions, optimise other strategies, deliver personalised experiences and more. It’s about understanding your customer, what they like, what they buy and how they behave. Data driven marketing allows retailers to segment their audience, predict trends, personalised recommendations and even analyse sentiment. It’s about using data, not just the soul. But really, to build relationships that keep customers coming back. Exponential and influential marketing. Now, in a world where consumers crave memorable experiences, retailers are going beyond traditional product displays. Think pop-up stores in store events and even augmented reality or even being placed within games. It’s about creating moments of resonate with your customers and build emotional connections. And of course we can’t forget influencer marketing. Or should be in today’s social media driven landscape, influence influences have become powerful allies in retail marketing. By partnering with influencers who will align with their brands, retailers can tap into new audiences and amplify their message with. Authenticity and trust. Sustainability it isn’t a trend is actually becoming more of a core component of retail marketing more and more. Consumers are now growing more conscious of environmental impacts, not just of themselves, but of the brands they love. And they’re looking to support brands that align with these values. Retailers are responding with more eco friendly packaging, ethical sourcing and transparent practises that not only appeal to consumers but do contribute to a better future. Looking ahead, the Metaverse and AI are posed to play significant roles in retail marketing, virtual storefronts, AI driven, personalization, and even digital fashion. These are just some of the ways technology is shaping the future. Now retail marketing is dynamic is changing and it’s constantly evolving. But at its. Core it’s about one thing connecting with your customer. Whether through die Driven Strategies, memorial memorable experiences or sustainable practises, the goal remains the same. Creating a brand that people love and trust.
